Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster Guitar

For the past two decades, Troy Van Leeuwen has put his personal stamp on modern rock through his work with such influential bands as A Perfect Circle and Queens of the Stone Age. With this Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster™, he also got to put his stamp on one of the coolest FENDER® guitars you'll find. While it's easy write off the signature touches of the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster™ as largely aesthetic (the oxblood finish, the tortoiseshell pickguard, the painted headstock, etc.) but you'll find some wonderful upgrades onboard as well, including its unique switching and Mustang® bridge. Keep reading to find out more

One of the major upgrades Troy Van Leeuwen added to his signature Jazzmaster is a 2-way toggle switch instead of the traditional slider used to select between the lead and rhythm tone circuits. If you aren't already familiar with the Fender Jazzmaster, it actually lets you set two completely different tone and volume settings, one with the knobs and another with the recessed wheels above the strings. Thanks to the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster's toggle switch, changing between these two settings on the fly couldn't be simpler. And if you're into tweaking your tone on the fly, then you're going to love these super-grippable "witch hat" control knobs for your primary tone setting.

A signature look for a timeless Fender electric guitar

In many ways, the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster is a fairly standard Fender Jazzmaster™. For instance, the pickups are a pair of '65 Jazzmaster single-coils, which carry the same sweet sound that made this guitar such a hit in the first place. But when it comes to looks, this axe takes the Jazzmaster in a whole new direction. Let's start with the color. Have you ever seen an oxblood guitar before? The Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster may be the first one to come in , and the tortoiseshell pickguard just adds a healthy dose of moxie to the equation, as does the painted headstock.

Upgraded hardware provides added sustain and stability

What could possibly improve the action of a Jazzmaster? How about a Mustang bridge to go with that locking Jazzmaster? That's exactly what Troy Van Leeuwen chose for his own signature Jazzmaster. Cooler still, those saddles are actually made of brass, so you get seriously extended sustain. Add to that a smooth-playing bound rosewood fingerboard with a tighter 7.25" radius, and you've got one easy playing guitar.

Features:

  •     A great-playing Jazzmaster built for modern rocker Troy Van Leeuwen (A Perfect Circle/Queens of the Stone Age/Eagles of Death Metal)
  • Tonewood include a resonant alder body and a responsive maple neck with the added bonus of a bound rosewood fretboard
  • Unique combination of oxblood color and 4-ply red tortoiseshell pickguard makes this one great-looking guitar
  • A pair of '65 Jazzmaster single-coil pickups deliver classic Jazzmaster tone
  • Switch effortlessly between two tone/volume settings with the Lead/Rhythm toggle switch
  • "Witch hat" tone and volume knobs make on-the-fly adjustments easy
  • Button-locking Jazzmaster tremolo tailpiece coupled with brass-saddle Mustang bridge provides you with epic sustain and stability
  • Other signatures touches include a painted headstock and block inlays
  • Hardshell case included
